What brought me joy today is a little different from my past blogs. I received an email from my honorary uncle saying to check this out, and I did and now I’m posting about it. I love getting emails and ideas about what to write about or even just tips of something neat to look at. So thanks uncle Steve-O for the email!

A galaxy 20 million light-years away called M51, was photographed and found to have an immense ring of dust at the center of the flat spiral galaxy. So the horizantal darker line is just part of the galaxy and the vertical line is the dust ring that is fueling the black hole. Now, to me it looks like a cross. Researchers are calling it an “X” and have no idea why the dust ring is positioned that way so that it looks like this.

What do you think?

    Great Post Liss !!!!
    I would say I see a cross – the maker of the universe left His mark! Just a reminder – He is ever present – ever near! So far far away – and yet so very close!
    Pretty neat eh!!!

    @mary d

    Didn’t the crucifixion of Christ happen after the creation of the universe?

    Didn’t the cross exist before the crucifixion?

  4. mary d Says:

    Yes but God is timeless – He is the Alpha and the Omega – one day – before- after – the beginning the end!
    He is the creator – and He knew and knows what is to come – so I still say – it looks like a cross to me – It is what I choose to see – others may see something different – but when I saw it for the first time – that was the first thing that struck me – how is that?

    I was just confused. I always thought that deep space photography was almost against creation since the time it takes for light to travel from a place like to out telescopes takes 20 Million years, making the universe 20 million years older than most theologians would say the “heavens and the earth” are.

    Personally I see pliers.

    What if the source of light and its 20 million light year old rays all appeared at the moment of creation then how old would this galaxy be? If man didn’t crawl from primordial soup or somehow become a super monkey then at the moment of creation was he sucking his thumb and wearing diapers or was he able to care for himself and a family.

    Just wondering…. there might be more than meets the eye. Ever seen a miracle………..
